Hélène Genet was born and raised in France, and studied Ecology in Germany, Belgium and France. She is now an assistant professor at the Institute of Arctic Biology at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. She studies the effects of climate change on boreal and arctic ecosystems. She also teaches French at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and shares her love for her mother tongue with enthusiastic students.
